IT'S A GIRL! We are proud to announce the arrival of a female Asian elephant calf, born Sunday, July 7, at 3:34 a.m. The birth is a major triumph for this endangered species and is the second elephant born in the Fort Worth Zoo's 104-year history. She is 330 pounds, stands 38 inches tall and is quickly bonding with 40-year-old mother Rasha. As the calf gets acclimated to her surroundings, she will be viewable at various times during the day. Those times will be dictated by her movement. We can't wait for you to meet her!
